Vengeance says making a stripped-down-rock album was "really fun for us, because, you know, we're huge fans of heavy metal and hard rock. … We would all get together and just write and write as much as we possibly can until there's no more ideas left to lay down, and then it's all about going in the studio and making it sound as perfect as we can." He's responsible for writing a lot of great stuff."īut "we felt like this was the next step in our evolution and I think it's something that Jimmy would have been really, really proud of, the direction that we took it. So to not have that element, you know, it's always difficult, because he brought something very unique to the table. They see that, and people have hard times of their own, and I think it was inspiring for some people, and I think for our fans, it was. I think a lot of people can relate with that. We had one message and we had 11 songs to get that message across and it was the most important thing that we've ever done as a band or outside of being a band.
